Atkinson Congregational Church, United Church of Christ Christian Education, Youth & Family Ministry Programs
The purpose of Christian Education at the Atkinson Congregational Church is to provide educational opportunities and resources for all ages to grow in their faith to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and the love of God. Christian Education is for all ages! Here is a sampling of what is offered at ACC:
Church School: preschool – 8th grade: Meet weekly for church school classes and participate in our annual Christmas Pageant and Children’s Sunday celebration. High School: Weekly/biweekly Bible Studies on Biblical Characters and faith issues are offered periodically for high school youth. Confirmation: High school students who want to explore the promises made by their parents at baptism and journey toward claiming those promises as their own may participate in confirmation classes. Youth Groups: older elementary – high school: Participate in fellowship, mission, service and retreat opportunities. Adults: A weekly Bible study, spiritual gifts class and women's studies are offered throughout the year. Families: Opportunities are offered throughout the year for families to nurture their faith and enjoy time together through, for example, family fun events and home devotion workshops. Kids’ Worship: Children and youth explore the meaning of and celebrate communion during a worship service in Tuthill House on the first Sunday of each month. This is a hands-on, participatory worship time where communion instruction and celebration is included. Youth Worship: a time for youth to worship God through praise music, prayer, scripture and a meditation. Please feel free to borrow resources from our library, located on the first floor of Tuthill House, Resources for borrowing include: Christian fiction for all ages, devotionals, reference materials, audiotapes, CD’s, as well as videos and DVDs. Please let us know how we may serve you more fully and feel free to contact a member of the CE Committee or Associate Pastor Caroline Anderberg with any questions you have.
