Deacons

"For the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many."

Mark 10:45

The purpose of the Diaconate is to assist the Pastor in the administration of the sacraments (Holy Communion & Baptism), assist with weddings, be a welcoming and helpful presence in the church, and cooperate with the Pastor in promoting the spiritual life of the congregation.

The definition of the word Deacon is: a servant, attendant, minister, fellow worker and assistant in evangelizing.  The inspiration comes from the example of Jesus.  Our motto is: "Once a Deacon, always a Deacon."   Past Deacons continue to serve whenever needed.  In this way, we continue to grow as we continue on our spiritual journey.
