The purpose of Christian Education at the Atkinson Congregational Church is to provide educational opportunities and resources for all ages to grow in their faith to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and the love of God.
Christian Education is for all ages! Here is a sampling of what is offered at ACC:
Church School: at 10:15 a.m. on Sundays Sept. 11, 2011 through June 17, 2012 for kindergarten through middle school, and for high school students once a month. Interactive lessons include crafts and games. Students also presented an annual Christmas pageant and Holy Easter Walk, and will take a leadership role in the worship service on Children’s Sunday on June 3, 2012. Church school starts when children are dismissed from the church worship service following the children’s sermon.
After-Church Fun and Service: On select Sundays, children from our church school and youth groups meet for field trips or fun activities. Some examples are: our field trip on Oct. 16 to the MSPCA to drop off items we collected for homeless animals; and our Fall Fun event at church on Oct. 30, when children make fall crafts and play games.
Summer Worship: In July and August children meet at Tuthill House during the 9 a.m. worship service to help tell stories, play games and make cool crafts. We hope you will join us. Wear shorts and come prepared to have fun! We also have one week of
Vacation Bible Camp fun. Our 2012 VBC will feature Cokesbury's Overboard theme. Join us for some "underwater" fun with Bible stories, crafts, games, music, snacks and more. The dates are still to be determined, but will likely be either the last week in June or in early August.
